Viking P.A.W.S. - Providing Academic & Wellness Support
Introducing our full-time Facility Dog program to Alanson Public Schools
ABOUT THE PROGRAM
At Alanson Public Schools, we believe that for students to excel academically, they must first feel safe, seen, and emotionally supported.
With 2 out of 3 students identifying academic pressure as their top stressor, we are taking proactive steps to improve mental health on campus.
Unlike visiting therapy animals, our Facility Dog is a full-time, 40-hour-a-week "staff member.
Our dog is specifically trained to lower anxiety, de-escalate high-stress moments, boost morale, and foster a joyful school culture.
“Having a (facility) dog would get people excited to come to school." — Natalie B., Student.
